Heartline App
Heartline is a thoughtfully designed social platform created to help elderly users stay meaningfully connected with their grandchildren in an increasingly digital world. The app focuses on reducing the generational technology gap by offering an intuitive, welcoming space where older adults can engage with family without feeling overwhelmed by traditional social media platforms. At its core, Heartline prioritizes connection, simplicity, and emotional well-being.
Key features include a personalized photo feed that allows users to easily view and revisit moments shared by their grandchildren, as well as built-in calling functionality that encourages regular, intentional communication. Beyond direct connection, Heartline also helps users stay culturally connected by highlighting trending content from platforms such as TikTok and Instagram. These trends are broken down into clear, accessible explanations, allowing older users to understand and engage with online conversations in a way that feels approachable rather than intimidating.
The app was fully designed in Figma, with all graphics, layouts, and icons created from scratch to ensure a cohesive and user-friendly experience. The design process was grounded in UX and UI best practices, including user testing to validate usability, refine interactions, and improve accessibility. Through this project, I explored how empathetic design and thoughtful interface decisions can create technology that feels inclusive, empowering, and genuinely human.

In addition to creating the app in Figma, I also created a prototype video so users can get a better sense of what it would be like to use the app. Use the button above to view this video that mimics a user's journey through the app.
