Mango Mental Health App
Mango Mental Health is a thoughtfully designed wellness app created to help users prioritize their mental health through simple, daily journaling. The app encourages reflection and emotional awareness by allowing users to log their feelings using an emoji-based check-in paired with written thoughts. Additional features, such as a daily inspirational quote and a saved journal history, allow users to track emotional patterns over time and revisit past entries, reinforcing consistency and self-care.
The app was fully designed in Figma, with all characters, graphics, and visual elements created from scratch to ensure a cohesive and welcoming experience. Extensive UX and UI user testing informed design decisions throughout the process, allowing me to refine layouts, interactions, and navigation to create the most intuitive experience possible. Gamification elements were incorporated to encourage daily engagement and make mental health tracking feel approachable rather than overwhelming.
Beyond design, I also handled the full technical development of the app. Mango Mental Health was coded using Swift and successfully published to the Apple App Store, with additional modifications made to support Apple Watch functionality. Careful attention was given to platform-specific design standards, ensuring the app aligns with Apple’s iOS guidelines while also maintaining an Android-friendly model. Fonts, button styles, and interface elements were tailored to match each operating system’s conventions, creating a seamless experience across devices. This project represents a holistic approach to app development—combining empathetic design, user-centered testing, and technical execution to create a meaningful mental health tool.
