Worthington Enterprises Corporate Communications
During the summer of 2025, I served as the Corporate Communications Intern for Worthington Enterprises, supporting both internal and external communication efforts across the organization. In this role, I wrote and edited articles for the company intranet, conducted employee interviews to develop internal stories, and contributed written content for Worthington Enterprises’ internal podcast. I also assisted in adapting long-form articles into engaging social media content, including Instagram Reels, ensuring messaging remained clear, accessible, and aligned with brand standards.
Alongside editorial responsibilities, I supported the creation of visual and digital assets used across corporate offices and facilities. This included designing posters and monitor graphics for company-wide announcements, as well as creative assets for internal events such as Summer Games and Bring Your Kid to Work Day. These projects required close collaboration with team members across departments and reinforced the importance of clear, consistent communication in a large organization.
Throughout the internship, I gained valuable experience in corporate storytelling, internal engagement, and integrated communications. I developed a stronger understanding of how written, visual, and social content work together to support company culture and employee connection. I also learned the difference between internal and external communication and how important the approach is for each one. For example, what might be acceptable to share internally does not necessarily work externally on social media.
Following the summer internship, I was invited to continue with Worthington Enterprises as a part-time Corporate Communications Intern, working remotely from Miami University during my final year of college, allowing me to contribute further to ongoing initiatives while deepening my professional skill set.
During the summer, each intern from the program presented their work at the intern graduation, where company executives were able to talk with me about my work and ask questions.
